BW:The Anglican Church Records in Botwood lists the marriage of Ann Chippett, of Leading Tickles, to Ambrose Churchill in 1869 at Tilt Cove. Possiblity that this was a 2nd marriage for Ambrose and that Ann Rowsell was deceased or that Ann Rowsell had been previously married to a Chippett. RNR: Her children were: Lydia - youngest, Emma - Married John Valentine, Jessie - died young? & Bertram. RNR: She went to live in St. John's with Uriah (her brother? first husband? Cousin?)
RNR's diary contains the following passage:
This night I visited my father's aunt commonly called by him Aunt Anne Churchill. I arrived at her house about eight fifteen p.m. She is a very nice old soul. We talked of relations and of many people who still live out upon the old "Rowsell's Island". I enjoyed the evening very much. I admire the little boy, son of Samuel Churchill, age twelve who was working hard at his radio set. To my mind, he will become something great. He's got a hold of the right end. When I was leaving, she shook my hand I can't explain it, and she kissed my cheek. She gave me a little advice. She said, "Now, Reg, my son. Don't have anything to do with girls." What do you think of that?
