      In re Francis Pike deceased.

      In the name of God Amen. I Francis Pike of Carbonear Island of Newfoundland Planter, thro the blessing of God being of sound mind & memory but weak in body do make this my last will and testament and desire it to be received as such.
      First I reserve the sum of Thirty pounds for my funeral expenses.

      Item. I give and bequeath to my daughters as follows- To Julia Pike, Ann Forward & Catherine Molloy one hundred pounds sterling each. To Mary Gosse and Jane Williams ten pounds sterling each. To Elizabeth Taylor the sum of one hundred pounds currency which is due and owing to me by her husband Francis Taylor which amount I lent him last year.

      Item, I give and bequeath to my grandson Charles Pike ten pounds sterling. To my grandson John Pike fifty pounds sterling. To my grandson Javis Pike ten pounds sterling. I give and bequeath to my grandson John Pike a piece of land westward of the new road leading to Hr. Grace and bounded south by the main brook on the north by George Pike west by Wm. Pike and east by said Road.

      Item. I give and bequeath to my dearly and beloved wife Jane Pike the whole of the remainder of my money not bequeathed say about two hundred and seventy pounds to be at her disposal during her life and the amount that may remain at her death to be equally divided between my two sons Edward & Francis.

      Item. Further it is my request that my wife Jane Pike do give Lucy Moors the sum of five pounds at my death.
      As witness my hand in Carbonear Island Nfland this first day of June one thousand eight hundred & thirty five. Francis Pike. Signed in the presence of John Pike. Francis Pike. W. W. Bemister.
      Further, omitted in the foregoing will it is my wish and pleasure that my bequeath of fifty pounds to my grandson John Pike shall be under the guidance and care of my two sons Edward & Francis untill he arrives to eighteen years of age as well as see my bequeath of land to him employ'd for his benefit untill that time. I do hereby appoint Mr. Thomas Chancey & my son Edward Pike as my lawful executors to execute this my last will and testament.
