Birth date comes from the entry for his marriage to Sarah Holstead. Canada, Marriages, 1661-1949," index, entry for marriage of Thomas Hyde and Sarah Holstead, 08 Sep 1869; citing Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, reference 2:3K5NC99; FHL microfilm 1030062.
