Born in St. John's, NL, he was a son of Eliza (Barbour) and the late Baxter Gordon Blackwood. Robert was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He was a loving man to all he knew. He worked for Farmers Dairy Home Delivery for several years. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Rosanne; daughter, Tina (Shaun) DeCoste; son, Paul; siblings, Molly (Ray) Montrey, Betty (Jim) Donald, June (Peter) Grimes, Patricia (George) Green, Beryl (Bas) Worthman, William (Joan) Blackwood, Wayne (Valerie) Blackwood, Gerald (Darlene) Blackwood, James (Carol) Blackwood, Susan (Brendan) Dunfee; granddaughter, Maya, the joy of his life; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Baxter and David. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Oakridge Memory Gardens.
