- The biggest of family.
BW: Henry's first two children were born at Rowsell's Island in 1869 and 1872. By 1873, the family had relocated to Lock's Harbour. Descendant, Salome (Martin) Randell of Grand Falls, stated Henry had brothers Mark and John. For this reason I have tentatively attached Henry as a son of William and Martha. Mary Jane Penney, who later married Mark, was a sponsor at the baptism of Henry's daughter, Selina. George Rowsell and his second wife, Rebecca, were also sponsors.
It seems that Henry Rowsell lived at Locke's Harbor. A.W. Rowsell refers to Henry as "Uncle" as he was Mark Rowsell's brother. This will be the Henry Rowsell b C1835 who married Susanna Davis.- R.Collins.
This is the Henry of the story that is told of Mark Rowsell who had a confrontation with some fishermen of the coast of Labrador and was the start of him becoming a light house keeper. I wish we had the whole story.
