• Notes

  Called John in The history of Chesterville. His date of birth in the Elliott family Bible is difficult to read. It might be 30th or the 20th of Sept. 1874. In 1897 John Jr. was assessed for part of lot 5, concessiosn 1, of Marlborough township. On an adjacenet farm lived Robert Reddick, the son of John and Margaret Reddick, and a brother of Mary who would mary John early in the following year. In 1898 John and Mary were still on that lot but in 1899-1901 they were assessed for the west 1/2 of lot 4, concession 3, across the road from the farm that Reddicks had occupied since about 1840. Eventually they acquired the original farm from her parents, the rear 1/2 of lot 4, concession 4, Marlborough township. At the time of the 1921 Census, all three were living in Marlboro Township Recordx show the birth of a son John Harmmond Elliott on the same date as Roy Alexander. However, cannot find any records of Roy's birth. He does show up in the 1921 census however.
