      The marriage of Olive Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin W. Field, with William Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam A. Dawe of Port de Grave, was solemnized on Monday, Sept. 18th, at 7:30 p.m. in Gower St. United Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. John E. Bell, B.A.
      The bride, who was given in marriage by Mr. Frank Penney, cousin of the bride, wore a gown of white satin with a closely-fitted lace jacket and matching veil with a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of peach gladioli and fern.
      The bridesmaids, Misses Lorna and Ruby Field, siasters of the bride, were attired in gowns of maize and peach organza with headdresses to match. They carried bouquets of purple, mauve and rose asters interspersed with fern.
      The groom was attended by his brother, Mr. Harold Dawe and the ushers were Mr. Carlysle Isner and Mr. Arthur Collingwood.
      Mrs. Field, mother of the bride, was attired in light blue crepe with navy accessories and wore a corsage of pink carnations.
      During the signing of the register, Miss Stella Yetman sang "Through the years". Miss Elsie Tait, Mus. Bac., the church organist, presided at the organ.

    • DAWE, Olive Florence - 93, of New Minas, NS passed away March 17, 2001 in the Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville, NS. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Ann (Taylor) Field. She graduated from Memorial University, Newfoundland (Class of 25) and went on to Dalhousie University, Halifax where she graduated in 1929. She taught school in Buchans, Newfoundland for many years and she was a former District Commissioner of The Girl Guides Of Canada in Newfoundland. She was a member of the St. James Anglican Church, Kentville. She is survived by her husband, William A. Wolfville; a niece, Norma Elliott, Ottawa. She was predeceased by sisters, Ruby, May, Trixie and Lorna. A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 from the H. C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville. Reverend Father John Scott officiating. Cremation followed. Memorial donations may be made to the St. James Anglican Church, Kentville.
