From the Sept. 11, 1911 issue of the Twillingate Sun - Henry Rowsell was master of the 44 ton Rosalie...insured for $495.00 under the Notre Dame Mutual Insurance Club.

In 1921, Henry was a Methodist and a fisherman living on Rowsell's Island. Never married.

From the diary of Arthur William Rowsell, Leading Tickles - Sep 19 1907: "Wind NE. An awful heavy gale but decreasing to a fair breeze at night. A terrible sea running. The "Rescue" broke from her moorings last night - at 12.30 drifting over on Wards Island, breaking to pieces. A most fearful thing. Henry losing all of his schooner belongings. Trap & lots of other things. The "Portia" came from Pilley's Island but must have had a rough time." Henry Rowsell, just back from the Labrador with his whole summer's fish plus all his belongings still onboard, looses everything!

The following is Rev. Robert Smith's notes for that day: Sept. 19, 1907, Thursday: Woke up this morning to find Henry Rowsell ' s schooner a total wreck, drifted away towards Island, no help, sea mountains high, such a storm not known for years. Wind dropping and at night sea going back a little, went to visit the homes at night. Portia came along, an awfully rough time, anchored for all night in the tickle.
Rowsell, Henry (I504)

902 Henry was from Three Arms. Henry and Charlotte lived at Three Arms. Lovell's 1871 Directory for Joe Batt's Arm lists a Henry Wells, fisherman. Lovell's 1871 Directory for Exploits Brunt Island lists Henry Wells, fisherman.

His headstone is on Three Arms island.
Wells, Henry Wallace (I338)

903 Her birth year of abt1832 is taken from her marriage record to Evans Cameron.

However, 1851 Census shows her as age 11, which would put her birthdate at abt 1840.
Hyde, Elizabeth (I568)

904 Her birthdate is confirmed to be Dec 3, 1906 via the diary of Arthur William Rowsell who noted her 1st birthday on December 3 1907.

Mary Jane and James Pelley had 10 pregnancies 9 children. The oldest child was Walter. Walter's boy Keith is the one who works with the Argonauts. - Source: Erica ?
There is doubt about the death date. No reliable source.

From Facebook group (Rowsells of Newfoundland), posted by Margie Pelley: "My mother, Mamie Pelley, née Rowsell daughter of Israel and Frances aka Fanny Rowsell, had 9 children, 31 grandchildren and do not know how many from there, but sure there are many. Myself, one of the 9 have 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren."

He married Jane Taylor at Carbonear on 3 January 1839, and had six children. John was the brother of Capt. Willis Bemister, William Bemister, Mary (Bemister) Forward and Sarah Jane (Bemister) Pike. He was also an uncle of Ernest Edward Forward and great-uncle of Kathleen (Forward) Rorke. John died at Harbour Grace on 19 December 1892. Bemister, Mary (I1766)

906 Her death date (Circa 1893) shows she died at age 5.
However a husband (George Woodbury) was found for her, so either the date of death is wrong, or the husband married another person name Winnie Roberts.
Since there is a child, I suspect she did indeed marry George. And her date of death (Circa 1893) is incorrect.
Roberts, Winnie (I650)

907 Her family was living at Winchester Township, Conc. 2, Lot 10, Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada at the time of her birth. Barkley, Helen Mabel (I389)

Byrne, Mary (I436)

915 Her name according to notes from Ethel Dessert was Elizabeth Latimere Galbraith, Elizabeth (I485)

I am a Wilton,my father was Joseph Roy Wilton. His parents were John Thomas Wilton and Elizabeth Bobbitt.John Thomas was the son of Solomon Wilton and Rachel Parsons.
