| 306 | Baptized at age 4 months. (B. Warford) RnR's diary states: Monday September 16, 1940 I spent the whole of the morning visiting. I visited six families. After dinner I went visiting again in South Beaumont. I was put across the south side of Beaumont South by Randolph Rideout. From then I visited nine families. At Mrs. Jacob Hewlett’s I had an interesting visit. She was Emily Rowsell, daughter of John Rowsell, who was the second eldest son of John Rowsell, who was the brother of William Rowsell, who was my great-grandfather, and Mrs. Emily Hewlett’s great uncle. Fanny Foster (my uncle Israel’s wife) she says, was the daughter of Eliza who was the daughter of John Rowsell by his first wife. Mrs. Hewlett made the wedding cake and wedding clothes for my aunt Fanny Rowsell. Mrs. Hewlett was at one time Mrs. Robert Colbourne, was at Tilt Cove when dad and Uncle Israel used to come ashore there. | Rowsell, Ann Eliza (Elizabeth) (I3279)

| 318 | Because no birthdate is available, I am assuming him to be three years older than his wife. BW: Has a Solomon Rowsell born bc 1864. But Martha (mother) died in 1860 so that's not possible unless William married again after Martha died and Solomon was the offspring of the second marriage. Or perhaps this Solomon doesn't even belong to William and Martha's family. There was a Solomon Rowsell born to a William and Charlotte Rowsell at Wards Hr. on Aug 3 1862. No more info on them. Solomon died in 1863 while away in Labrador. His body was brought home for burial. His son, Solomon, was not born until 1864 after his father had been buried. | Rowsell, Solomon (I97)

| 329 | Birth date calculated based on his letters written in 1981 in which he says he is 95. In the same letter, says that his grandfather, Solomon Rowsell, died the same season that Israel died on the Labrador. They brough his corpse home to his young wife and son. His father Solomon was not born until seveal weeks or months later. Does this mean there was another son already born when the father died? BW: William resided in Rattling Brook with his wife and son in 1921. No further mention of the son. He probably died. Letter he wrote to RNR states that he had a great aunt who married a Burke. Jessie Colbourne states that William and his wife Florence adopted Daisy [unknown] in 1921. The 1935 census does show an adopted daughter (age 17). Stonepics database has a record of William A Rowsell who died in 1987 | Rowsell, William Adolphus (I103)
