Come all ye, sensible and sober
On the fourteenth of October,
Pay ten cents for your admission
To the Brigus Exhibition.
Cows and heifers, calves and pigs,
Fowl of all sorts, and their eggs:
Geese and turkeys, ducks and drakes;
Finest fish from off our flakes.
In the way of the vegetable
Would you see what we are able --
Cabbage, turnip, squash and beet,
Parsnip, cucumber and wheat,
Marrow, pumpkin and potato,
Corn, with onion and tomato,
Carrot, barley, oats in sheaf;
Cauliflower and chard in leaf;
Apples crab and apples sweet:
All have come in to compete.
James and jellies you will find:
Sweet meats of the rarest kind --
Squash and marsh and partridge berry,
Dog and straw and plum and cherry;
Blue and goose and rasp so sweet;
Currants black and red compete;
Apple crab and apple bake;
Pickles, marmalade -- and cake;
Bread and scones and rolls and butter --
Show a worth too great to utter.
Samples of the ladies' matting,
Sewing, stitching, kintting, tatting,
Colored, white embroidery,
Drawn thread, spinning, quilting see;
House-plants too, are on display.
COME! Enjoy our Gala Day.
Nor see anyone forgets
To behold the QUINTUPLETS.
With the Compliments of L.M. Dotchon.
