Not long after arriving in Antigua, we were sauntering along St. Mary's Street and
saw a fellow selling a wide variety of hot sauces. Since our son likes to pour this stuff on
everything he eats, we decided it would make a good gift to take back. We bought a bottle of Denise's Tropical Delight
"Wild Fire" hot sauce. It was a hit and has been sampled by the pack of teenage boys who descend on
our house every so often. Denise's hot sauce was pronounced to be tastier than most hot sauces which
mostly are just hot. This one has flavour. The personable chap tending the business was very happy to chat with us and to pose for this picture. He also gave us a brochure showing information about the company, his name and address but unfortunately it never made it back to Canada. We are attempting to find out the information and will update this site when we get it. |
Later in the week, on a busy Saturday morning, we visited the Market in St. John's.
The fellow standing next to Bajez Soap, Gifts and Souvenirs, at the entrance to the upstairs concourse of the Market,
recognized us immediately. We chatted with him and met the owner of Bajez Soap, Cheryl Samuel. Of course, we asked
if they would be kind enough to let us photograph them and they obligingly agreed. Naturally, I also wanted to sample
the home-made soap, and picked up a bar of Island Spice soap for my mother-in-law. I wish now I had bought some for
myself.
